China Donates 17 Equipped Ambulances and 2 sets of digital language teaching system to Bulgaria
China donated to Bulgaria 17 fully equipped ambulances and 2 sets of digital language teaching system, which is worth RMB 5 million (abt Lev 1 m). The donation arrived in Sofia on Oct.4, 2005. The Customs clearing and other formalities were done by Bulgarian Agency for International Aid. The official ceremony of handover was held on Sept.11.

The Charge d'Affairs Wang Jungling of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria symbolically presented the keys of 17 equipped ambulances to Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria handed over to Mr Wang the documents to offically confirm the receipt of the donations.

Bulgaria's Health Minister Radoslav Gaydarski described the donation as really valuable and needed help coming at a time when Bulgaria's emergency aid system requires urged modernization. Minister Gaydarski also expressed the gratitude of Bulgaria's people to China's government.

The ambulances will be allocated to the most needy cities and
ten of them will most probably remain in Sofia. The ambulance
pool of Emergency Aid in Bulgaria is very outdated and it is
time for it to be replaced gradually, Gaidarski said when he
received the donation.

The 2 sets of digital language teaching system have been distributed to the Chinese Language Department of Sofia University and the No.18 Secondary School -"William Gladstone" of Sofia respectively. The systems are of high tech of international level. They have been completely installed, and proved to be of high satisfaction of the beneficiary.
